Paola Mardo is an independent audio producer and the host, producer, and creator of Long Distance, a narrative podcast about the Filipino diaspora, part of the Google Podcasts creator program with PRX and one of Bello Collective’s 100 outstanding podcasts of 2018. Her radio and podcast stories have been broadcast on KCRW’s Good Food, Offshore, PRI’s The World, KPCC’s The Frame, and KQED’s The California Report. She provides audio editing and production services for clients including Hulu, The Los Angeles Times, and Wondery.
Previously, Paola produced interviews and features for Los Angeles NPR member station KPCC’s The Frame. She was the host and producer of F This Weekly, a podcast about women of color in the arts and entertainment. Paola received an M.A. in Arts Journalism at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School of Journalism as the Sony Pictures Fellow. She received a B.A. from UC Santa Barbara in Film and Media Studies and Asian American Studies. Before working in audio, Paola worked in the film industry at Sony Pictures and Annapurna Pictures.
